Pat Beverley incident with Pacers fans is being investigated by police

The incident between Bucks guard Patrick Beverley and Pacers fans during Game 6 is currently being investigated by police, NBA insider Shams Charania reports.

“Indianapolis police are investigating the incident between Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of the Bucks-Pacers series; Detectives confirm to me and
@MikeVorkunov, they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved.” Charania said on X.

Police said in a news release that the case had been referred to investigators “who are currently investigating this situation and are taking all allegations seriously.”

Those investigators will present the case to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office once the investigation is complete, the release said.

In the fourth quarter of Milwaukee’s Game 6 loss to Indiana in the first round, Beverley aggressively threw a basketball toward the Double Pacers fans sitting behind the Bucks’ bench.

The fans had apparently taunted Beverley for most of the game.

He addressed the incident on his podcast earlier this week, claiming that the profanities shouted by fans were completely inappropriate.

“…It was more than ‘Cancun on three,'” Beverley said. “Let’s just say it was more than that. I’ve been called a lot of things in this league, I haven’t been called that name yet. Still inexcusable, it doesn’t matter what was said. I have to be better and I will be better.”

In addition to the police, the NBA is also investigating the matter and a ban for Beverley because of the incident is not ruled out.

Beverley’s highlights of the day didn’t end there as he told a respected man about it ESPN The journalist said she couldn’t ask him questions after the Bucks’ exit because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.

There is no doubt that there will be more of them.
