Air Evac takes Hannibal man to hospital after accident on Highway 61

On June 20, 2024, at approximately 6:16 a.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 61, one mile south of New London, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 26-year-old Dane Clair of Hannibal, Missouri, was heavily damaged and towed from the scene by Roberts Garage.

The accident report states that the vehicle left the right side of the road, oversteered, then left the left side of the road and overturned. Dane Clair was ejected from the vehicle in the accident.

Clair suffered serious injuries and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. He was flown by medical helicopter to Columbia University Hospital for further treatment.

The Ralls County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of the accident.
