Man wanted after woman sexually assaulted on Birkenhead bus – Birkenhead News

After a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in Wirral, police have released a surveillance image of a man we would like to speak to.

The woman was travelling on the Arriva 437 towards Birkenhead at around 12.10pm on Friday 26 April.

The bus stopped in Claughton Village, opposite Birkenhead Sixth Form College, when two men got on and sat next to her.

The men spoke to the victim before one of them sexually assaulted her.

Other passengers on the bus intervened and alerted the driver, who stopped the bus and asked them to get off. They got off near Birkenhead Park station.

Merseyside Police have released a surveillance image of a man they would like to track down as they believe he could help with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Sarah Wilkinson said: “This was obviously a very disturbing incident for the woman concerned.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured as we believe he could assist us with our investigation and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously quoting reference number 24000380604.
