Early morning fire destroys house in Harris, investigation ongoing

The Medicine Creek and Galt Fire Protection Districts responded to a house fire in Harris early Tuesday morning, June 18.

According to Terry Purdy of Medicine Creek, the house had already burned to the ground when firefighters arrived on the scene.

The home, owned by Charlotte Smith, was unoccupied at the time of the fire, so no injuries were reported. Purdy confirmed that the resident was not present during the incident.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. No further information is currently available.
