House Ethics Committee finds allegations justified

The U.S. House Ethics Committee has ruled that several of the allegations it is investigating regarding the conduct of Florida’s First District Congressman Matt Gaetz require further review, including that he may have been “guilty of sexual misconduct.”

A committee statement signed by committee chairman Michael Guest (R-Mississippi) said it found that Gaetz may have been guilty of sexual misconduct, illegal drug use, and accepted inappropriate gifts.

It also saw reason to further investigate allegations that Gaetz (R-Fort Walton Beach) may have granted special privileges and favors to people with whom he had a personal relationship and may have attempted to obstruct government investigations into his conduct.
