Man dead after car crash in Pittsylvania County

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Virginia. – Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday

The single-vehicle accident occurred on Route 729.

Investigators said a GMC Yukon was traveling north on Route 729 when the car left the right side of the road and executed an oversteer reaction while crossing the road, causing the car to roll over.

The driver of the GMC was identified as Kevin Lamont Ballard, 37, of Ringgold.

According to VSP, Ballard was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
