SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego police have announced an arrest in connection with the stabbing of a pregnant woman in Mira Mesa on Saturday.

San Diego police have released photos of the suspect after a four-month pregnant woman was stabbed multiple times at an ATM. Police say it was an unprovoked attack.


The incident occurred around 10 a.m. as the victim was standing next to her vehicle at a drive-thru ATM next to the Mira Mesa Target. She was injured in the neck, left shoulder and chin.

In a press conference Sunday evening, San Diego police announced the arrest of 27-year-old Cole Klemke, a Carmel Valley resident who SDPD says is homeless.

SDPD reports that the victim is recovering at home after being treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Police released these photos on Saturday evening in hopes of finding the suspect.

SDPD has taken Klemke into custody. He is being held at the San Diego Central Jail. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
