Six-year-old girl raped and killed in Telangana; accused arrested | Hyderabad News

KARIMNAGAR: A young girl raped and murdered by a Worker in a rice mill in Peddapalli District from IndiaAccording to police reports on Friday.
The suspect, identified as Balaram (35) from Madhya Pradesh, was taken into custody and booked under the POCSO Act.
M Sreenivasulu, Ramagundam police superintendent, said the incident took place in the early hours of the morning at a camp on the rice mill premises in Sultanabad.
“The defendant took the underage girl (6) in the early hours of today, slept with her mother in a camp on the rice mill premises. He raped her and when the girl raised the alarm, he strangled her by the neck and killed,” he said.
Local residents who had gathered at the scene apprehended the accused and he was subsequently arrested by the police. A case was filed against him for rape and murder, with additional charges under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The victim’s body was taken to a government hospital for an autopsy, the commissioner confirmed.
