Nina Dobrev describes her crazy dirt bike accident: “My knee just broke”

the Vampire Diaries Star appeared on CBS’ The conversation – which she said was the “first time she left the house in over two months” – on Wednesday to provide an update on her recovery.

“I had knee surgery,” Dobrev said. “I had a huge brace. I can’t really walk on my own yet. I had a broken knee and had to have an ACL and meniscus surgery.”

The 35-year-old actress first told her 26.1 million followers about the accident in May, sharing a photo of herself happily sitting on a bike, followed by a photo of her lying flat on a hospital bed wearing a knee and neck brace. The caption read: “How it started vs. how it continues.”

However, on June 5, she announced that the operation was successful and thanked everyone for their “positive energy.”

It was Dobrev’s first time on the dirt bike, she said on The conversationand she admits that “it didn’t go well,” adding that she would never try it again. “I don’t recommend it, guys. It’s OK, I learned my lesson: never get on a dirt bike,” she added.

While promoting her upcoming film on the show reunionThe actress revealed how the accident happened. She explained that she “didn’t do a wheelie on purpose, I lost control, I throttled the whiskey, the bike went flying. Luckily I didn’t fall on him, which the doctor said would have been much worse.”

“But when I landed, I landed on a straight leg and my knee was just broken,” she added.

Although she’s mostly on bed rest, Dobrev says she’s still entertained by the stunning views from her bedroom, television, her dogs and her snowboarder boyfriend. Shaun White.

“Cuddletip is my life these days,” she said. “It’s just the puppies, and at home it’s watching movies, physical therapy, eating, sleeping or peeing.”

She also shared a video of White dancing for her while wearing an Elena Gilbert dress – her character from the Vampire Diaries — Sweatshirt.

“When you can’t leave your bedroom, you either watch TV or have live entertainment, and that’s my live entertainment,” Dobrev said of White’s moves during her appearance on The conversation.

Dobrev and the 37-year-old have been together for almost four years. The first dating rumors sparked in February 2020 when fans noticed that the two had shared similar photos from a trip to South Africa.
