Teenager on dirt bike dies in traffic accident near Russellville (TN)

HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) – A 17-year-old riding a dirt bike on North 3rd Street near the community of Russellville was pronounced dead after a crash, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A preliminary report from the THP said the accident occurred on Monday, June 10, at around 2:30 p.m.


The report said the teen was driving a “CDI SSR dirt bike” and ran the stop sign from North 3rd Street onto Three Springs Road, causing him to enter the path of a 2015 Toyota Forerunner. The SUV, which was traveling south on Three Springs Road, struck the dirt bike.

According to the report, the teenager was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges were filed against the driver of the 4Runner, the report said.
