Disneyland employee dies after golf cart accident on site

A Disneyland employee died when he fell from a moving golf cart at the California theme park, authorities said.

Bonnye Lear, an administrator at Club 33, died Friday after hitting her head in the theme park’s backstage area Wednesday after falling from a moving golf cart, according to Orange County Coroner’s Office spokesman Sergeant Frank Gonzalez.

“We are heartbroken over the loss of Bonnye and extend our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort, said in a statement. “At this time, our focus is on supporting her family and our staff through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”

According to the Orange County Register, Anaheim police and fire departments responded to a traffic accident in the backstage area of ​​Disneyland on Wednesday.

According to spokesman Sergeant Jonathan McClintock, 60-year-old Lear was taken to a local hospital in serious condition and later succumbed to her injuries.

The police are investigating the collision.

Club 33 employees who worked with Lear are “terribly saddened” after learning of their colleague’s death. Lear worked for Disneyland for 24 years and worked in membership relations at the members-only club.
