2 pedestrians die after collision with Amtrak train in Panorama City

Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a train in Panorama City late Sunday.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the accident at the railroad tracks near 7600 Woodman Avenue around 9:30 p.m. after learning of the collision.

When they arrived, they found both victims, a man and a woman, both in their mid-30s, dead at the scene. Due to the ongoing investigation, the identities of both victims have not yet been released.

No other injuries were reported and none of the train crew or passengers required medical attention, fire officials said.

The train, an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, was traveling southbound when the accident occurred.
