Strong to severe storms possible until late evening

Today has been mostly dry so far with sunny skies and highs in the 30s and 35s. As the humidity increases, it will feel more like 35s and 35s, so stay hydrated if you’re spending any time outside. A 48-minute warning is in effect for another chance of showers and storms that could become heavy to severe. This round will likely arrive later this evening, but forecast models are still struggling with the overall timing. Please stay weather alert as any developing activity could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning.

Rain and thunderstorms will ease after midnight and move south, with isolated showers possible early Monday morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies giving way to plenty of sunshine in the afternoon, with highs ranging between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius. With lower humidity across the region, it’ll be a nice start to the work week! Skies will remain clear overnight, with refreshing lows between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius.

More sunshine is expected on Tuesday as a drier and more comfortable air mass remains in place. Highs will remain below average at 27-30 degrees Celsius, with overnight lows dropping to 10-12 degrees Celsius. Take advantage of this cooler than normal weather to start the week as heat and humidity will increase by Wednesday and highs will be back to 32 degrees Celsius.

Typical summer weather will prevail for the rest of the week and into Father’s Day weekend. Highs will rise to 35 to 40 degrees each day, with overnight lows remaining mild and muggy at 23 to 25 degrees. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible, but the chance of rain will remain fairly low throughout the rest of the forecast.
