Fatal accident claims one life in Greenville County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirms one dead and one injured after a driver struck a tree Saturday morning in Greenville County.At around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, troopers and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded to a crash on State Park Road near Hala Court in Greenville County.According to troopers, a 2005 Dodge pickup truck traveling west on State Park Road around 3 a.m. veered off the road to the right and oversteered, causing the driver to veer off the road to the left and strike a tree.The driver was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and the passenger died at the scene.More news:2 people charged, 1 wanted in fatal shooting nearly 2 years ago, officials sayThe Greenville County Coroner says the suspect is 30-year-old Burgandi Josey Blaine Holiday of Greenville.The coroner will conduct an external examination on Holiday on Monday.
