2 women arrested for alleged mail theft in Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) – Days after Arizona’s Family released a report about mail thefts in a Surprise neighborhood, police have arrested two women in connection with the crimes.

Teresa Renee Settle and Michelle Lidster were taken into custody on Wednesday.

According to court documents, the duo stole mail in and around the Kingswood Park neighborhood between October and Tuesday.

Some of the thefts were captured on surveillance video, and police said the SUV involved was a 2014 Ford Explorer owned by Lidster.

According to court documents, officers searched the family’s home in Wittmann and found hundreds of pieces of mail, including credit cards, passports, national IDs, checks and other identifying information.

Investigators said they used the mail to send fake IDs and found a printer in their living and kitchen area.

Settle and Lidster used the information from the stolen mail to forge checks and apply for credit cards.

Officers said they found a .22-caliber rifle in their shared bedroom, which they were prohibited from owning as convicted felons.

Both women were sent to prison for multiple counts of forgery, receiving stolen goods, theft and more.
