Suspect sought after man shot in front of granddaughter during Miami burglary – NBC 6 South Florida

Police are searching for a suspect who shot a man in front of his granddaughter during a burglary in Miami on Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Southwest 5th Street in Little Havana.

Miami police officials said there appeared to be a burglary involving a young girl, and when the girl’s grandfather confronted the suspect, an altercation ensued.

The 60-year-old grandfather was shot during the altercation, police said.

Police and firefighters responded and the man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity was not released.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. No further information was immediately available.
