Wisconsin man arrested for resisting arrest and fourth DUI offense after running a red light

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A southern Wisconsin man was arrested early Thursday morning for his fourth OWI offense after being stopped for allegedly running a red light.

According to Janesville Police, a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East Centerway Street and Cornelia Street at approximately 3:40 a.m. on June 6 because a driver ran a red light.


The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Jeffery A. Knutson Jr., reportedly did not cooperate with police and showed signs of being intoxicated.

Officials said Knutson Jr., a Janesville resident, refused to take a breathalyzer test and was later given a legal blood draw, the results of which are pending.

Knutson Jr. was taken to the Rock County Jail and arrested on the following charges:

  • OWI – 4th offense
  • Resisting/obstructing an officer
  • Three cases of bail evasion
