(KRON) — A Mountain View middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday after being accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old student, Mountain View police said.

Ralph Turner, 59, of Sunnyvale is a teacher at Graham Middle School, 1175 Castro St. He was placed on leave after the Mountain View Whisman School District learned of the allegations against him.

MVPD interviewed the victim and other students who may have been witnesses or victims and obtained an arrest warrant. Police did not provide any specific information about the crime.

Turner was charged with molestation and sexual abuse of a child under 14 and false imprisonment. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

The MVPD believes there may be additional victims in this case. Anyone who may have been a victim, knows a victim, or has additional information is asked to email Detective Guillermo de Lira at [email protected].

Turner was only charged with a misdemeanor, which is why his mug shot was not allowed to be released by the Mountain View Police Department.
