Overturned semi-trailer near Marshall causes traffic delays

MARSHALL, Texas (KETK) – Marshall Police are warning motorists of an overturned semi-trailer on eastbound I-20 under the US 59 overpass causing traffic backups Wednesday evening.

To avoid further traffic jams, officials are urging people to avoid the area around I-20 and US 59.

The police have set up a diversion route for travellers heading east:

“Please use Highway 80 to Loop 390 and then back on Highway 80 to avoid the accident scene. Navigation apps may reroute you via smaller residential streets, however these are currently impassable due to recent heavy rains and should be avoided,” the officer said.

Officials said they are grateful for the cooperation and patience of drivers as they work to clear the area and ensure everyone is safe.
