Washington police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery Monday morning.

Detective Jordan Faust said police were called to the Washington Financial Bank at 98 E. Wylie Ave. around 9:40 a.m.

A man wearing a medical mask and hoodie handed a bank employee a threatening letter demanding money.

“If she didn’t cooperate, no one inside would come out,” Faust said of the note’s contents.

According to Faust, the cashier gave the man a few hundred dollars from her drawer.

“Apparently that wasn’t enough for him. He had her open her drawer and there was nothing there,” said Faust.

The man did not display any weapons during the robbery.

Washington Police are asking anyone with information to call 724-223-4226 or send a message to the department’s Facebook page.
