Mother of missing woman asks suspect arrested after jet ski chase to tell where her daughter is – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Two years after a woman disappeared, a murder suspect on Atlanta’s most wanted list is behind bars.

Allahnia Lenoir was last seen on July 30, 2022, at the Peachtree Midtown Apartments at 1600 Peachtree Street. Police believe Lenoir died in an apartment and her body was disposed of.

Police arrested two of the suspects, but the third suspect, 31-year-old Steven Oboite, remained on the run until Friday, when Police arrested him in front of Allatoona Lake in Bartow County.

Lenoir’s mother told Michael Seiden from Channel 2 The recent arrest doesn’t bring her any closure. She just wants justice.

“There are absolutely no words to describe the agony I feel on a daily basis,” Jannette Jackson said. “The fact that he was found on jet skis having a great time is probably the most painful part of all this.”

Two game wardens from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources observed Oboite on a jet ski in a wave-free area around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators said they stopped him because they thought Oboite might be drunk and asked him for his identification. Then, authorities said, he drove off on the jet ski.

Oboite eventually made it to shore and ran through a wooded area. Officers caught up with him and arrested him.

Oboite and Diante Reynolds, who have been in prison since 2022, are charged with Lenoir’s murder. A third suspect, Nicholas Hendrickson, is accused of helping to dispose of the young woman’s body.

Court records show that Oboite had warrants out for his arrest for murder, covering up the death of another person and tampering with evidence in connection with Lenoir’s death.

Lenoir’s family said she and a friend met two men at the apartment complex. Lenoir never returned home.

Two years later, investigators are still searching for her body.

“If you find anything, anything that you care about for me and my family, just tell us where our baby is,” Jackson said.

Oboite remains in the Bartow County Jail but will be extradited to Fulton County.
