Investigators in Birmingham are working to find out more about why a man was found dead in a front yard. Birmingham police said officers responded to a man shot in the 6800 block of 1st Avenue South on Tuesday afternoon just after 3:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the man lying unconscious in a front yard, apparently suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics on scene pronounced the person dead. BPD’s preliminary investigation indicates that passing motorists saw the victim and called for help. There is no one there currently in custody.
