Child pornography images seen as Lower Bucks man renews his registration: police

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A Bristol Borough man has been charged with child pornography after images of it were shown when he renewed his vehicle registration at a Falls Township AAA branch last month, police said.

Francis X. Danis, 58, was taken into custody Thursday morning and charged with possession of child pornography, Falls Township police said. He was preliminarily arraigned before District Judge Charles Jonas and held on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.

Danis went to the AAA office on North Oxford Valley Road to renew his vehicle registration. According to police, he asked an employee for assistance with the renewal.

Danis wanted to provide the data stored on his phone about his car insurance and gave it to the employee.

The employee accidentally closed the image containing the vehicle insurance information and instead found five images of naked girls, believed to be between the ages of seven and nine. The images showed the girls bound and dressed in leather, police said.

The criminal complaint sent to Patch states that the employee looked at the images for a few seconds before accessing the insurance information again.

After closing the insurance data a second time, the witness again saw the pictures of the naked girls and immediately gave the phone back to Danis, police said.

The police were called and informed of what was seen on the phone. A search warrant was obtained for Danis’ cell phone, which police seized on May 1.

During a forensic examination of the device, files containing child pornography were found, police said.
