According to the US, Russia has likely put an “anti-space weapon” into orbit to attack satellites

The U.S. government has determined that Russia recently launched a “space defense weapon” capable of attacking satellites, U.S. officials said this week, raising concerns about a new frontier for conflict between the nations.

Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder told reporters on Tuesday that they believe Moscow launched a satellite into low Earth orbit last week that “is likely a counterspace weapon with the potential to attack other satellites in low Earth orbit.”
