Telangana man arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his daughter

A 38-year-old man from Nirmal district in Telangana was arrested on charges of sexually abusing his daughter, local authorities confirmed. The suspect, named Sanjeev, was already convicted of murdering his second wife and was released from prison only five months ago.

After his release, Sanjeev lived with his first wife and their two children in Gundampalli village in Dilawarpur district. According to Janaki Sharmila, superintendent of police in Nirmal district, the accused developed incestuous thoughts and attempted to rape his daughter on July 19. When the daughter resisted, he threatened to kill her and her mother if the incident came to light.

The daughter confided in her mother and brother, who subsequently reported the matter to the police. A case was registered under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and other relevant sections. The police used advanced technology to track down Sanjeev, who was hiding in Pune, which led to his arrest in Basara on July 28. He has since been remanded in judicial custody.
