Child molester from Wisbech arrested

A man who raped a child and took indecent photographs of children has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Shaun Bolingbroke, 32, attacked the child in June 2020 and the offences came to light in October of the same year.

In addition, he repeatedly attacked other children.

Shaun Bolingbroke is behind bars.

A search of his mobile phone revealed 54 unauthorized images of children as well as an image and video of Bolingbroke sexually abusing a dog.

On Tuesday (23 July), Bolingbroke, from Wisbech, was sentenced to 25 years in prison at Cambridge Crown Court after a jury found him guilty of raping a child under the age of 13.

He pleaded guilty to taking indecent photographs of children, possessing an extremely pornographic image, having sexual intercourse with an animal and four counts of cruelty to a person under 16.

Bolingbroke was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.

DC Annette Renwick said: “Bolingbroke is an incredibly dangerous offender who has left lasting psychological scars on the children he abused in such an abhorrent way. You have been so brave in giving evidence.

“Bolingbroke took advantage of their vulnerability and I hope this verdict will provide them and their families with some comfort and the opportunity to move on with their lives.”
