Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida arrested

The former reality star was arrested for domestic violence.

Apollo Nida just doesn’t seem to be able to get out of trouble. The former husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Alum Phaedra Parks was sentenced to eight years in prison for financial fraud in season 6 of the Bravo series, while Parks filed for divorce. The former couple have two children together. While in prison, Nida began dating his current wife Sherien Almufti. They were together for several years before marrying in 2022 and even appeared in Couple therapy by VH1 to address her marital problems. It seems that therapy didn’t help, because Nida was arrested this spring for domestic violence after an argument with Almufti went awry.

Page Six Police were reportedly called after she “had just returned home from a bar with friends and consumed three alcoholic drinks.” The two allegedly had “a verbal argument about cheating on each other.”

Almufti told officers that during the “verbal altercation,” Nida “showed her a video of herself kissing another man.” He then “pulled her hair and pushed her against a refrigerator,” which led to a “brawl” between the pair. She claims she “ran outside and called for help” before going back inside to pick up her phone from the floor “to call the police.” Nida left the scene

Almufti showed police “surveillance video of the verbal altercation.” The video did not show any footage of the alleged altercation. Nida returned home and told a story that confirmed what had happened to his wife, except for the physical altercation. He admitted that during the argument he tried to take her phone away, which allegedly caused her to fall to the floor with her phone.

He says he eventually took the phone from her and gave it back to her after she called outside for help.

According to the police report, Almufti showed no physical marks indicating an altercation. Nida was arrested and charged with simple assault – domestic violence. He was accused of “intentionally making abusive and provocative physical contact” with his wife “by pulling her hair and pushing her.” Almufti has since released a statement saying that they have been in therapy since the incident and have moved on from it.
