An air quality warning applies to the border region

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Good morning and happy Sunday!

We expect a repeat of yesterday’s weather with highs in El Paso of 100 degrees and in Las Cruces of 98 degrees.

The National Weather Service issued an air quality warning yesterday that remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. today.

This weekend, thunderstorm chances are favorable across western New Mexico, with scattered rain and possible localized flooding in the Gila Wilderness area and along the Continental Divide.

Temperatures are expected to continue to rise through the middle of the week, with highs in El Paso expected to reach triple digits.
