Myrtle Creek police have arrested a man following a stabbing incident early Saturday night.

According to an MCPD report, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Northeast Johnson Street shortly before 3:00 a.m. after a caller reported a robbery.

Detective Kevin Taggert said a 28-year-old Roseburg man reported he was involved in a commotion and believed he had been stabbed. The victim was taken by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center with a stab wound to the chest.

Taggart said the investigation led to the arrest of another Roseburg man, 42-year-old Quenton Johnson. Johnson was charged with first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was jailed without bail.

Taggart said additional charges would be filed pending the completion of the investigation. The victim in that case was later released from Mercy Hospital.

MCPD was assisted on scene and throughout the day by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
