Investigation planned into apparent swatting call on Dill Street

Lewiston police say they will investigate an alleged prank call to 9-1-1 that brought a large number of officers to a residential street Friday afternoon. According to a post on the police department’s Facebook page, officers were alerted to a possible shooting report on Dill Street. “Upon arrival, police made contact with residents and determined the call had not been made from that address,” the post said. Officers searched the area but found nothing suspicious. “At this time, we believe the City of Lewiston has been the victim of a prank call.” “This has consumed tremendous resources and placed officers in the public at potential risk.
