Buffalo scores 51-1 at end of day

HAMBURG, NEW YORK —Look at my art (The American Ideal-Abrokenart Hanover) produced a “masterpiece” on the final harness racing card at Buffalo Raceway on Sunday afternoon (July 21) as he recorded a shocking 51-1 victory for $104.50 to the delight of his loyal fans in the $10,400 Class A-Open.

The favorite McNatural L (David McNeight III) took control of the race from the start and posted reasonable times of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:26.0. While he seemed on track to finish, McNatural L began to feel the pressure from Lookatmyart (Shawn McDonough) and Dance Ticket (Jim Morrill Jr.).

In the straight, Lookatmyart accelerated hard into the passing lane and passed McNatural L by half a length in 1:55.2. Dance Ticket was able to maintain his place in the show.

Owned by Super Mile LLC and trained by Angelo Nappo, it was the first win of the season in 12 starts for the 7-year-old mare Lookatmyart. The victory increased her seasonal earnings to $24,020 and her lifetime earnings to $257,708.

Kevin Cummings won the Buffalo Raceway driving championship for the first time in several years after taking the win aboard True That ($2.80) in the fifth race. Since 2019, Cummings has finished second or third in the driver standings, but he finally clinched the elusive title Sunday. He finished with 96 victories and more than $775,000 in purse earnings.

Racing is expected to resume at Buffalo Raceway in 2025.
