Mother killed, 3 children injured in accident in North Georgia

An online fundraiser has been set up to pay the hospital bills of the three children injured in the accident.

CLEVELAND, Georgia – A Georgia family is in mourning after a mother was killed and her three children were injured in a car crash in Cleveland on Thursday.

The Georgia State Patrol said patrol officers were called to a three-vehicle crash on Georgia 115 at Ed Lewis Road in White County just before 6 p.m. on July 18.

The investigation revealed that 34-year-old mother Bailey Gabler was traveling with her three children in a Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was pouring with rain. Her Jeep then skidded, went out of control and was rammed from the side by an oncoming Porsche Macan, police said. The Porsche then crashed into a Dodge Ram 1500.

According to GSP, emergency responders arrived and took Gabler to the hospital, but unfortunately she was pronounced dead.

Her three children were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where they are recovering. According to an online fundraiser set up by a family friend, one of the children had both of his legs shattered in the accident and will undergo surgery to set two broken legs. The online fundraiser also said Gabler was a single mother raising three children on her own.

“Bailey’s mother must take time off work to care for and support her grandchildren during this difficult time,” the online fundraiser states. “The family must also find a larger home to accommodate their new circumstances and fund therapy sessions for the children as they recover emotionally and physically.”

At the time of this writing, the fundraiser has already raised nearly $10,000 of its $50,000 goal.
