McDonald’s in Fort Wayne hosts fundraiser for couple killed in car accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – McDonald’s on South Anthony Boulevard donated 15% of all sales today between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to the family of a couple who recently died in a car accident.

Mayra Vivar and Fernando Pizano died earlier this month in a tragic car accident right next to Vivar’s workplace.

Vivar worked at McDonald’s for nearly 20 years and worked her way up to manager.

Co-workers told 21Alive News that they watched her grow up and that she was more like a daughter to them than a colleague.

Her co-workers Veronica Jackson and Earleen Laster told 21Alive that she always tried to spread kindness to customers and co-workers.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Vivar and Pizano’s family, including their nine-year-old daughter and Vivar’s sister, who was also injured in the accident and is still in hospital.
