The skiers’ bodies are still on the mountain, KSTU. The hope is that the bodies can be recovered on Friday once conditions improve, The Associated Press reported.

The rescued skier was able to dig himself out of the snow, the AP reported. Rivera believes the rescued skier was the one who called for help.

Emergency crews were called to the area around 10 a.m., Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said, according to the AP.

A helicopter flew over the area searching for the other two skiers and was able to confirm that they were dead.

According to KSTU, the two skiers have not yet been identified. These are men aged 23 and 32.
