East Side home damaged by overnight fire; cause still under investigation, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – Fire investigators in San Antonio are trying to determine the cause of a fire at a home on the city’s east side late Thursday night.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., a house fire was reported in the 200 block of Porter Street, near South New Braunfels Avenue and Interstate 10.

According to the fire department, no one was in the house when the fire broke out.

Firefighters described the fire as “flamethrower-like” and it was shooting out of the back of the house.

They made sure that the flames did not spread to another house nearby.

No injuries were reported.

Both the San Antonio Fire Department, the San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Emergency Services responded to the emergency call.

Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause.
