Man charged after breaking into apartment and sexually abusing woman

According to Winnipeg police, a 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault on July 8.

WPS received a report that a man approached a woman along Portage Avenue. The two chatted before the man lured the woman into a nearby home.

According to reports, the man then broke into the house and barricaded the woman inside so that she could not get out.

It is believed that he subsequently physically and sexually assaulted her.

The woman also told police that she had lost consciousness at one point and that the man had threatened to kill her.

The woman finally managed to escape the scene of the accident and called the police.

The police went to the house and found the man sleeping inside. He was then taken into custody.

WPS has since charged 39-year-old Kyle Thomas Quill with eight counts, including sexual assault, false imprisonment, uttering threats and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order, to name a few.
