Hurricane Beryl Relief: Salvation Army Sends Mobile Kitchens to Houston to Distribute Food and Water

The Salvation Army announced Tuesday that it will deploy mobile kitchens across southeast Texas to help feed residents in areas affected by Beryl.

HOUSTON — As Houston residents recover from the impact of Beryl, The Salvation Army has established local command posts and deployed mobile kitchens across the region.

The Salvation Army announced Tuesday that its incident management team will be based at the organization’s “disaster center” in Houston, with a second operation set up in Wharton. A kitchen at the South Baptist Texas Convention Disaster Response will handle all meal preparation and cooking at both locations, according to a news release.

Since Tuesday, the Salvation Army has also deployed mobile kitchens throughout the region. There are four mobile kitchens within the Houston city limits, with additional units deployed in Brazoria, Matagorda and Wharton counties.
