TPD NEWS RELEASE:

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested one person following the fatal stabbing attack on May 3 at the Providence Point Apartments at 1242 Stuckey Avenue.

After a thorough investigation by TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined that 34-year-old De Andre Robinson had a physical altercation with an adult female at her residence. Preliminary findings indicate that this incident was not a random act of violence. After the stabbing, Robinson fled the scene and the victim called neighbors for help. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The subsequent investigation collected physical evidence and witness statements that allowed investigators to identify Robinson as the man who was in the victim’s apartment at the time of the incident. Investigators learned that Robinson fled to Albany, Georgia, after the incident. On May 8, Robinson was located and taken into custody by the Albany Police Department. After consulting with the public prosecutor’s office, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for second-degree murder. Robinson is currently awaiting extradition.

This quick arrest is a testament to the department’s commitment to working tirelessly to apprehend perpetrators of violence and bring justice to victims and their families.
