Cookeville man dies in Colorado hiking accident | Local News

Officials in southwest Colorado say a 25-year-old Cookeville man, who was hiking with friends near Silverton, fell 600 to 800 feet to his death on the Fourth of July. As of Sunday, San Juan County Coroner Keri Metzler was trying to notify next of kin and had not released the man’s name.

According to a social media post from Silverton Medical Rescue, “On Thursday July 4th, 2024, a group of three males and three females went for a day hike starting at Andrew’s Lake to the top of Snowdon Mountain peak.”
