Pedestrian killed in accident on I-40 in Durham

DURHAM, NC – Durham police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 40 Saturday evening.

At approximately 9:53 p.m., officers observed that a man had been struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane near the Fayetteville Road exit.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The circumstances that caused the crash are unknown.
