Rookie charged with allegedly damaging a vehicle during a DUI incident on I-80 in Paint Township

PAINT TWP., Pennsylvania (EYT) – A local man is facing charges after an alleged incident of driving aggression on Interstate 80 in Paint Township.

Court documents show that Clarion-based state police have filed charges against the 52-year-old William S. Nunamakerof New Bethlehem, in the office of District Judge Jarah Lee Heeter on Monday, July 1.

According to a criminal complaint, PSP Clarion was dispatched to Interstate 80 East, near Exit 60, in Paint Township, Clarion County, at approximately 12:42 p.m. on Thursday, June 11.

The complaint states that a known driver was William S. Nunamaker while driving through a construction site. Nunamaker was driving a heavy-duty vehicle and had a support vehicle in front of him. Nunamaker was upset about the known driver’s license and radioed his support vehicle to stop the vehicle and confront him, the complaint states.

The pilot car driver stopped his pilot car in the lane and the known driver then stopped his vehicle. Nunamaker approached the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle and began yelling at him to get out. That driver refused to get out of the vehicle and Nunamaker struck the driver’s door, causing visible damage, the complaint states.

The total estimate to repair the vehicle is $1,796.06, the complaint states.

Nunamaker was accused of:

  • Damage to property – Damage to property, offense 2

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, at 9:45 a.m., with Judge Heeter presiding.
