Midday Update: Hurricane Beryl is a Category 2 with strong winds and flooding in the Cayman Islands.

Hurricane-force winds, dangerous storm surges and heavy rains are expected in the Yucatan Peninsula tonight Friday, and in two days in the Gulf of Mexico.

After Beryl leaves the Yucatan Peninsula on Friday, it will spend two days in the Gulf of Mexico.

Will it weaken and become a tropical storm?
