Investigation underway after man beaten, robbed in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation is underway after police say a man was beaten and robbed in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Around 2:00 a.m. officers said they were called to the area of ​​East Market Street and North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard for a reported robbery.


On the scene, police say they spoke with the victim who said he was confronted by two men who physically assaulted him before removing his phone and money from his pockets.

The victim was unable to give details on the description of the two suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
