Defendant in Gering drug raid investigation makes deal

One of the two Alliance men caught during a traffic stop in Gering in March has agreed to a deal to avoid trial.

Moses Dawn, 26, and his 43-year-old passenger Marco Dubray were stopped on Birch Street and a search of the vehicle revealed a bag of suspected meth, a set of scales and baggies, and a pair of brass knuckles.

Marco Dubray is charged with possession of meth (10 to 27 grams) and no drug tax stamp, while Moses Dawn has pleaded to the lesser charges of possession of a controlled substance and attempted possession of a deadly weapon.

Dubray will appear in court again later this month, while Dawn is scheduled for sentencing on August 9.
