69-year-old woman allegedly raped by 27-year-old; police dog arrests suspect

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of raping a 69-year-old woman in Calhoun County.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Dekota Wayne Humphrey.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon in Calhoun County on County Road 311.

After the rape, the suspect stole the woman’s truck and fled the scene. He wrecked the stolen truck on County Road 314 and fled into the woods.

Two Calhoun County officers and police dog Rooster pursued the suspect into the woods. Rooster was able to catch the suspect and take him into custody.

Dekota Humphrey is charged with aggravated domestic violence, rape with intent to commit rape, resisting arrest, reckless driving, hit and run, driving without a license, driving without insurance and expired license plate.

His bail was set at $500,000.
