What to expect during the presidential debate between Trump and Biden

Trump has almost made his unpredictable speeches part of his brand. But Biden supporters hope their candidate can avoid that during the debate.

ATLANTA — The presidential debate in Atlanta on Thursday will feature President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump as they prepare for the November election.

Trump has almost made his unpredictable speeches part of his brand. However, Biden supporters hope their candidate can avoid his sometimes unpredictable tendencies during the debate in Atlanta.

David Moskowitz sincerely believes in Biden and he’s not excited about Thursday’s debate.

“In order to not actually gouge my eyes out from this event, I might need to be near an alcoholic beverage or a stimulant to get through it,” Moskowitz half-joked Wednesday.

Moskowitz said he was mainly talking about Donald Trump, whose outbursts in previous debates could resurface in Atlanta. It’s a trait that endeared Trump to his supporters. But Biden’s occasional gaffes on stage have made some of his supporters a little nervous.

“I would like Biden to do well. No verbal gaffes or anything,” said James McMakin, a Biden supporter.

“We’re trying to save democracy, so I hope he’s well prepared,” added Jasmine Keith, another Biden supporter.

Age is at the heart of the concerns of the two political figures. Trump is 78 years old, a few years younger than Biden. And Biden showed his supporters that at 81 years old, slurred moments are sometimes part of his speech.

“We know what to expect. I’m sure there will be a stutter here and there. But that’s just who he is,” Moskowitz said.

Both Biden and Trump struggled to memorize lines of debate rhetoric conjured up during lengthy rehearsals.

“I think people need to realize – not focus on his age but focus on humanizing him. He is human. I have trouble speaking in public, you know, and so we shouldn’t be looking for that. make it perfect,” Keith said.

“It’s part of the territory,” Moskowitz added.
