FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Happy Wednesday evening,

Today has been cooler than usual due to morning showers and an approaching cold front that will move through the area this evening. Ahead of this cold front, there may be heavy rain, some lightning, and a few storms that will bring gusty winds as the cold front moves through.

Behind the front, a slight clearing is expected tonight, with temperatures dropping to a pleasant 15 degrees. Thursday is expected to be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and highs of under 27 degrees. Friday will be another great day, with a few clouds returning later and highs of over 27 degrees.

This weekend, rain and thunderstorms are forecast again on Saturday. First, we’ll see a weak warm front move north first, giving us the chance of showers and a few rumbles. Then later in the day, a cold front will approach, significantly increasing the chance of thunderstorms in the region. The timing of these two and the distance between them will determine how warmer it can get on Saturday. Right now, it looks like temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees are possible, and that heat will favor some possible strong thunderstorms later in the day.

This front will bring us the possibility of thunderstorms Saturday night, ending early Sunday. Sunday should see clearing and drier air, with temperatures dropping back below 27 degrees in the afternoon. Monday will see a pleasant start to the holiday week with mostly sunny skies and highs around 27 degrees. Tuesday will see more sunshine and highs back above 27 degrees.

Wednesday looks set to heat things up, with Red, White & Boom! seeing temperatures climb back below 35 degrees on Wednesday, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible towards the end of the day.
