Police investigate shooting in Boston’s Harbor Point neighborhood

An extensive search was launched after a person was shot in the Harbor Point neighborhood of Dorchester on Saturday evening.

Boston police said they received a report around 9 p.m. that the victim had been shot near 80 Westwind Road, near the waterfront in Dorchester.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers could be seen on foot searching around the Boston Harborwalk near UMass Boston.

“No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing,” police said in a statement to Boston 25.

Several police cars with their floodlights on were seen searching the area.

Police boats also searched the coast near the crime scene.
