18-year-old Albany man arrested for carrying loaded gun during meeting with probation officer

According to Albany police, 18-year-old Shascott Ham was arrested Friday for carrying a loaded handgun at the Albany County Probation Department.

Ham was meeting with his parole officer at about 2:50 p.m. on Friday when the parole officers discovered he had the gun with him, police said.

Patrol officers found the gun in a bag belonging to Ham.

According to police, Ham initially refused to comply with the officer’s orders but was taken into custody without further incident.

Ham was charged with second-degree illegal possession of drugs and resisting arrest.

According to police, he was arraigned in Albany County Criminal Court and booked into the Albany County Jail.
