Man arrested for raping 5-year-old girl in Sultanpur

SHO Satendra Kumar Singh said the incident occurred when the girl was playing outside her house and was walking towards the garden. Chauhan lured the girl and took her to a field where he raped her.

Meanwhile, her parents searched for her when she did not return home. They found her lying unconscious and bleeding in a field, Singh said.

They took her to a hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape, he said.

She was then referred to another hospital for better treatment, he added.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the police registered a case of rape and violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested Chauhan, the SHO said.
